Let's Have an Old-Fashioned Apple Dessert

Quickie Apple Crumble
    This simple formula is different each time depending on what apples, sugar and extracts you use. Use white or brown sugar or some of each. Buy pie-sliced apples, not apple pie filling.

2 cans of pie-sliced apples OR
4 cups peeled and sliced apples
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla, rum, lemon or almond extract
1 cup biscuit mix
1/3 cup sugar
Liquid margarine
    Set the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 X 13-inch baking pan and add apples. Sprinkle with sugar and spice. In a bowl whisk egg and extract. Stir in biscuit mix and sugar. Cover the apples with small dots of the biscuit mixture. Drizzle with liquid margarine. Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is toasty. Serves 6 to 8.
