Elegance from Your Slow Cooker

Janet Groene’s
Slow Cooker Bananas Foster
Set it and forget it while enjoying a campground potluck. Then whip out this dazzling dessert topping. It’s traditionally spooned over vanilla ice cream, but it’s also good over pound cake, toaster waffles or plain vanilla pudding.

12 large, firm, ripe bananas
1 ½ sticks butter
½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup amber rum
1 teaspoon butter-rum flavoring
Spray your slow cooker and add sliced bananas. Dot with bits of butter and sprinkle with brown sugar. Mix rum and flavoring and drizzle over bananas. Cook 1 hour on Low. Stir gently and spoon over cake, ice cream, etc.  Serves up to 24.
